Types of Golden Visa in Spain

In the present blog, we are going to list the different options that an investor interested in obtaining the investor visa has when making an investment in Spain and thus obtaining one of the different types of Golden Visa in Spain
1. PUBLIC DEBT
Invest two (2) million euros in Spanish public debt titles.
In the case of investment in public debt securities, it is needed a certificate from a financial institution or from the “Banco de España” in which it is verified that the maintenance, or extension, from the date of obtaining the residence visa for investors, of the number of public debt titles that the investor acquired at the time the initial investment was made. The certificate must be dated within 30 days prior to the submission of the application.
A certificate from the financial institution or the Bank of Spain will be presented indicating that the applicant is the sole owner of the investment for a period equal to or greater than 5 years.
- In the case of investment in unlisted shares or social participations, a copy of the investment declaration made in the Foreign Investment Registry of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness will be presented.
- In the case of investment in listed shares, a certificate from the financial intermediary will be presented, duly registered with the National Securities Market Commission or with the Bank of Spain, stating that the interested party has made the investment for the purposes of this standard.
2. SHARES OR SOCIAL PARTICIPATIONS OF CAPITAL COMPANIES
Invest one (1) million euros in shares in Spanish capital companies with real business activity.
It is needed a certificate of the financial intermediary, duly registered with the National Securities Market Commission or with the Banco de España, in which it is stated that the interested party has made the investment of one million euros in a period not exceeding one year, in shares of Spanish capital companies. The certificate is valid for 30 days from its issuance.
In this case, it is required that the company has been duly registered with Social Security, that it performs a real business activity, for which it must have a sufficient number of workers duly registered with Social Security and be up to date of their tax obligations. On the other hand, there is no minimum period required for the incorporation of the company or a minimum number of assigned workers.
